Service availability – over the festive period

A graphic wishing our patients a happy and healthy festive holiday period, this is included in a post providing some useful information about service availability over the bank holidays.

Our team would like to wish all of our patients a happy and healthy festive holiday period.

General practice appointments are available through the Enhanced Access Service at the weekend and on bank holidays. If you contact the practice by phone when this service is open, you will be automatically connected. Outside of these hours when the practice is closed you will be asked to call NHS 111.

Please consider all health and care options to get the most appropriate care in the quickest time
  • Use NHS 111 online 24/7 or call 111 if you think you need medical help right now. You will be signposted to or connected with the most appropriate service to meet your needs.  You can also find out about other ways to contact NHS 111.
  • The NHS website is a complete guide to conditions, symptoms and treatments, including what to do and when to get help.
  • Community Pharmacies can offer clinical advice and over the counter medicines for a range of minor conditions. This handy resource lists the local pharmacies open over the bank holidays.
  • The Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service 0333 332 3800 is available for patients who need urgent dental care when their practice is closed, or if they do not have a regular dentist.
  • The Minor Eye Conditions Service provides assessment and treatment for people with recently occurring minor eye problems. Availability may vary over the bank holidays.
  • Bury’s Getting Help Line 0161 464 3679 is available Monday to Saturday,  providing confidential advice, guidance and signposting for people experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing.  Normal opening hours are 10am to 7pm, availability may vary over the bank holidays.
  • If you, or someone you know, is experiencing a mental health crisis, you can now call 111 and select the mental health option (option 2).  Available 24/7, you will speak to a mental health advisor who will listen and help you find the right support. The Pennine Care website also provides lots of useful information about other support services.
  • In addition, you can access a range of self care resources and advice via our website. This includes advice and information for parents and carers who might be concerned about their child, with tips for managing symptoms at home, along with information about when you should seek medical advice.

Thank you for only using the A&E department for serious injuries and life-threatening emergencies.
