Dr. Cathy Fines is a GP Partner, she is also the Practice lead for safeguarding and is mainly based at our Greenmount site. In addition to her Practice responsibilities, Dr. Fines is the Associate Medical Director for NHS Greater Manchester in Bury, and is the named GP in the borough for safeguarding.
Before qualifying as a clinician, Dr. Fines was awarded a degree in psychology and has also worked in pharmaceutical clinical research. She started out in her medical career in a hospital setting, before moving into General Practice. Training at Fairfield General Hospital, after qualifying she has spent her entire career as a GP within Bury, joining Tower in 2018.
Areas of special interest include women and children’s health, safeguarding and mental health, and the parts of the role she enjoys the most are talking with patients and working as part of a team.
Outside of work she likes to keep fit and taking the family’s pet cockapoo for long walks.
