Service availability – Early May and Spring bank holidays

Our team would like to wish all of our patients happy and healthy Early May and Spring bank holidays (5 May and 26 May).

General practice appointments are available through the Enhanced Access Service at the weekend and on bank holidays. If you contact the practice by phone when this service is open, you will be automatically connected. Outside of these hours when the practice is closed you will be asked to call NHS 111.

Please consider all health and care options to get the most appropriate care in the quickest time

  • Use NHS 111 online 24/7 or call 111 if you think you need medical help right now. You will be signposted to or connected with the most appropriate service to meet your needs.  Find out about other ways to contact NHS 111.
  • The NHS website is a complete guide to conditions, symptoms and treatments, including what to do and when to get help.
  • Community Pharmacies can offer advice and over the counter medicines for a range of minor conditions.  Not all pharmacies will be open on the bank holidays, so it’s best to check before you travel.
  • The Greater Manchester Urgent Dental Care Service 0333 332 3800 is available for patients who need urgent dental care when their practice is closed, or if they do not have a regular dentist.
  • The Minor Eye Conditions Service provides assessment and treatment for people with recently occurring minor eye problems. Availability may vary on bank holidays.
  • If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call 111 and select the mental health option (option 2).  You will speak with a mental health advisor who will listen and help you find the right support. The Pennine Care website also provides lots of useful information about support services.
  • You can access a range of self care resources and advice via our website. With tips for managing symptoms at home, along with information about when to seek medical advice.
